Nice to see the SU II is back, but for over $1000 it should come with an air cleaner assembly. Nice refurbished SU carbs go for around $300-$400. I may be tempted to order a new SU, but I would expect an air cleaner assembly with it.
Unfortunately, the prices of these items have gone through the roof, and all the parts are hand assembled here in our Cali warehouse which takes time, and since we are not a not-for-profit company we have to charge accordingly. Incidentally, I frequent swap meets looking for deals and have not seen a “nicely refurbished” SU yet. There are older SU 1’s and 2’s sometimes but they need rebuilding for sure. Our SU’s are assembled with all brand new parts. Our rebuild service gets many of those swap meet SU’s for complete cleaning and rebuilding. Also, it allows the purchaser to choose which air cleaner they want without me having to have 6 more different part numbers for A/C choices.
